Uganda, often called the "Pearl of Africa," is rich in natural beauty and agricultural potential. Known for its fertile soils, favorable climate, and diverse ecosystems, agriculture has long been the backbone of Uganda’s economy. Historically, Uganda was known as the breadbasket of East Africa, supplying food crops like coffee, bananas (matoke), and tea to neighboring countries and beyond.
Agriculture remains a central pillar of Uganda’s economy, employing over 70% of the population. However, despite this agricultural heritage, the sector faces modern challenges such as limited access to capital, outdated farming techniques, and the effects of climate change.
However, we see these challenges as opportunities for growth and are working hard to ensure that we are an essential part of Uganda’s agricultural renaissance.
